From Lisbon Airport to University City

By Metro

Metro is said to be the cheapest and the quickest means of transportation from Lisbon Airport. You have the option of buying a one-way ticket for just €1.40, a daily pass for €6, or the “Zapping” service, in which you can charge a metro card with some amount and use it for metro, bus and tram in Lisbon (each trip will be debited in that card).

The School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (FLUL) is located in Cidade Universitária (University City), just a few kilometers from airport. From the Airport station, the red line can get you to the Saldanha station in just 18 minutes, where you must change to the yellow line towards Odivelas. Then, you will be able to reach the Cidade Universitária station in 4 minutes.

By Taxi

Taxi is a very quick means of transportation in Lisbon (except during rush hours). Before the travel begins, you should insist on having a receipt. Most of the Lisbon taxi drivers are honest, but a few of them are dubious; they may decide to take you through the longer route to charge you more.

The travel between the airport and the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon usually take about 10 minutes and cost €5 to €8, depending on the traffic.

By Bus

Bus is also a good way to travel in Lisbon. In the airport, you can find bus 731 (Moscavide centro à Av. José Malhoa) that will pass in the University City every 15 minutes, during the day.

Registration for accommodation in shared rooms in university residences is already openned. Applicantes must mention by email their interest, referring the days for accommodation;

Each night in a student residence will cost 10€ for the first 15 registrations, which will be in residences of the University of Lisbon (double or triple room); after that, there will be more 20 vacancies in the residence of the Nursing School of Lisbon with prices from 17€ (double room) to 22€ (triple room);

Rooms are shared, and therefore you might have to share a room with other students (rooms are for male OR female, there are not mixed rooms). Bathrooms are also shared. It is possible to cook light meals in the residences;

The university will NOT give any invoice from these expenses.
