School of Arts and Humanities – University of Lisbon
The building of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon was planned in the 1950’s by architect Porfírio Pardal Monteiro (1867-1957), being part of a complex that includes also the Faculty of Law and the Rectory.
The architecture of these buildings is characterized by symmetry, evident from the marble portico made up of a well-proportioned rectangle and adorned with colorful paintings by Portuguese artist José de Almada Negreiros (1893-1970).
